MAKABAYAN

Ang MAKABAYAN ay ikalimang saklaw na aralin (learning area) sa antas Sekundarya na binubuo ng Araling Panlipunan, TEPP (Teknolohiya, Edukasyong Pantahanan at Pangkabuhayan, dating Technology and Home Economics – T.H.E.), Musika, Edukasyong Pangkatawan at Pangkalusugan (dating Physical Education, Health and Music – P.E.H.M.) at Edukasyon sa Pagpapahalaga (Values Education).

Araling Panlipunan (Social Studies)
The coexistence of increasing cultural diversity and cherished tradition requires this subject to cultivate the participatory citizenship and encourage the growth of independent, knowledgeable young adults who will conduct their lives in accordance with democratic and ethical principles, and who will actively participate in civic, cultural and volunteer designed to enhance the quality of life in the community.

1. First year – Philippine History, Government and Culture
2. Second year – Asian History, Government and Culture
3. Third year – World History
4. Fourth year – Economics

TLE (Technology and Livelihood Education) formerly T.H.E.  TLE is intended to provide rich and varied experiences reflecting many activities usually performed in managing the home. Through the aid of technology, it is expected to instill in the learners proper work habits and work ethics, and to develop skills that promote productivity and self-reliance. It is an active tool used to stimulate students to embark in their own income-generating projects attuned to their immediate needs, and to further develop among them positive economic traits

2. Second year – Sewing, Food and Nutrition and Entrepreneurship
3. Third year – Food and Nutrition; baking and Entrepreneurship
4. Fourth year Food Preservation; Responsible Parenthood; Maternal and Child   Care

Computer

1. First Year – Introduction to computer; Microsoft Word, Powerpoint
2. Second year – Advanced Word, Powerpoint, Hard Disk Management, Introduction to Internet
3. Third year – Flowchart, Turbo Pascal, Internet
4. Fourth year – Networking, Internet, Web Page Design (HTML)

Musika Edukasyong Pangkatawan at Pangkalusugan (formerly P.E.H.M.) 
Music aims at developing the learner's personal, social and aesthetic skills and values. This covers the study of the elements and styles of music learned experientially through listening, singing, playing, reading, and creating. Philippine music as well as those of other countries is used for deepening the understanding of musical and artistic ideas and values.

1. First year – Theory of Music
2. Second year – Philippine Music
3. Third year – Asian Music
4. Fourth year – Western Music

Edukasyong Pangkatawan (P.E.) 
Edukasyong Pangkatawan aims for the physical and athletic development of the learner through selected physical exercises games, sports, and dance

1. First Year – Physical Fitness and Rhythmic Gymnastic
2. second year – Philippine Folk Dances and Sports
3. Third year – Foreign Dances and Sports
4. Fourth year – Creative Dances and Sports

Pangkalusugan
The Pangkalusugan component develops the learner's ability to attain and maintain holistic health (physical, mental and interpersonal)

1. first year – Introduction to Personality Development
2. Second year – Personality Development & Good Grooming
3. Third year – Self-image; Consumerism; Media Education
4. Fourth year – Career Orientation; Ecology of the Filipino Family

Edukasyon sa Pagpapahalaga (Christian Life Education/Values Education) – C.L.E./ Values Education aims at developing in the learner the knowledge and skills necessary for doing adequate discernment,  analysis, discussion, comparison, and selection of values in real life situations. Though value integration will be done in every learning are through an experiential learning approach and integrated teaching, it is given additional periods entirely for value-processing activities that will deepen and enrich the analysis of values within and across every learning area. It is hoped that the learner will develop and internalize the value system that makes him/her a person of integrity and courage to face contemporary challenges and has the firm commitment to serve and live with gratitude to the Creator
